Victor Danilov was born in Leningrad (St. Petersburg) in 1946. He graduated from the Interior and Equipment Department of the Muhina School of Arts in 1969. Danilov is an artist with a very original and spontaneous view of the world, full of humor, irony and depth. He mastered in a whole variety of themes and ways of their realization. At first look it seems that Danilov’s paintings (houses, people, and nature) are very simple. However, the artist manages to express his soul by filling the “primitively-painted” subjects with life, content, and completeness. Danilov is not afraid to experiment, search, move from one technique to another. He succeeds in oil paintings, graphics, and sculpture with the same professionalism and uniqueness.
Danilov’s works are in collections of State Russian Museum (Saint Petersburg), State Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow), Tyumen Fine Arts Museum (Russia), Alexandria Museum of Modern Art, (VA, US), private collections in Russia, Australia, Germany, Denmark, USA, Turkey, Finland, France and Switzerland.
