Kovalsky Art Gallery is a contemporary art boutique in downtown San Francisco that gives art lovers around the world unique access to some of the most famous contemporary Russian artists. We specialize in the works of preeminent Russian artists from the mid 20th century onwards with an emphasis on post-impressionism, avant-garde, primitivism, abstract art, and expressionism. We are situated directly across from the Palace Hotel, close to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and Yerba Buena Art Center.

Today in Russia, there is a burgeoning contemporary art movement that few outside of that geographic area are aware of. The gallery presents such acclaimed artists as Natta Konysheva, Valentina Lyakhovich, Evgeny Rastorguev, Yuri Ryzhik, Konstantin Sutyagin, and Isaiah Zeitman, among others.   These artists are already known in Russia and many parts of Europe. Their works expand on an historical art tradition that goes back to such great Russian artists as David Burliuk, Marc Chagall, Wassily Kandinsky, Kasimir Malevich, and many others. 

The gallery was founded by the Kovalsky family that finds great appreciation for contemporary fine art. The Kovalsky family has been collecting Russian art for more than 20 years and throughout this period established friendships with many outstanding artists. The family wishes to give collectors outside Russia a chance to have the magnificent art it admires in their collections as well.
